'Home Town' Fans are So Emotional Over Erin Napier's Touching Pregnancy Announcement
Congratulations are in order for Ben and Erin Napier!
The Home Town co-hosts are expecting their second child in just a few short weeks, according to Erin’s latest Instagram post.
“By now most of you know that in just a few weeks we will be adding another little face to our home videos and photo albums,” Erin, who is 35, wrote alongside a video of moments of herself and Ben with their daughter Helen. “Just like Helen did, her little sister has made it easy to keep her secret by being tiny even now, and I’m deeply thankful that we’ve had almost 8 months of keeping this our news just for our family and close friends.”
That’s right — Erin has (secretly!) been pregnant for much of the last year!
“Last spring, I put away the changing table supplies because I no longer had an infant,” she shared in her initial post. “I put it away in the guest room closet and then I cried because I thought how lonesome Helen must feel up there in her crib beside an empty room every night. A few weeks later, I watched my daddy and his brother standing at my grandmother’s graveside. Two men with many differences strengthened each other. Two men who knew her better than any of us ever could. Siblings do that, they know and remember and keep the stories of a family alive. And we wanted that for Helen. Someone to stand with her when we can’t someday.”
Naturally, fans (and a few fellow HGTV stars) were so excited to hear the news, and flooded the comments section with messages of support:
Jenny Marrs of Fixer to Fabulous commented, "So beautifully said. ❤️ overjoyed for you guys!!! Another baby girl 💞💞!!" while singer-songwriter Natalie Hemby added, "I’m so so happy for you guys ... Love you and praying for you ❤️"
One fan even shared a funny account of when she found out the news while watching the episode: "Oh my goodness! I just yelled with excitement as I was watching the episode! My family was like 'what is happening and why are you so excited?! You don’t know them!' 😆 Congrats!!"
Another user commented, "The minute I saw it on TV just a couple of minutes ago that y'all were going to be parents again I just screamed a little bit. We don't know each other and you have no idea who 99% of your fans are but for someone who wasn't lucky enough to have children it makes it very sweet for people like you to continue to grow your family!! Congratulations y'all."
Of course, Erin’s post was especially considerate of her fans who might be struggling to celebrate with her. She also used her announcement as a moment to honor the many women who struggle to become pregnant. “We are so thankful,” she wrote. “Even in our celebrating, I’m thinking of the would-be parents waiting for their own babies. For many it can be such a long and difficult journey and I pray for strength for you if that’s where you are. God answers in His own time, not ours, awfully hard as that can be. Sending so much love to y’all today.”
