Hollywood Rallies In Support Of Leslie Jones Following Hack
Following the vicious doxing of comedian Leslie Jones this morning, friends and peers within the entertainment industry have expressed support for her and outrage about the attack, which saw sensitive and highly personal information posted to the Ghostbusters and Saturday Night Live star’s personal website by hackers.
Ghostbusters director Paul Feig was among the first to weigh in, calling the attack “an absolute outrage,” and blasting possible suspects angrily. Jones’ current and former SNL cast mates also came to her defense, among them Aidy Bryant, Taran Killam, and Jay Pharoah. The Twitter hashtag #loveforlesliej also began trending throughout the day as fans joined in the near-universal condemnation of the attack, which as it happens was the second such attack on Jones, following a campaign of harassment in July that saw Breitbart columnist Milo Yiannopoulos banned permanently from Twitter due to his perceived role in encouraging the harassment.
Others who expressed support include musicians Katy Perry and Questlove, Octavia Spencer, and Gabourey Sidibe. See a cross section below.
What's happening to @Lesdoggg is an absolute outrage. Alt right, haters, trolls, "comedians," whoever the fuck you all are, you're just sad.

May many (more) bad things befall the cowards who've attacked my friend, @Lesdoggg. They are the worst of humanity, where she is the best.

I truly don't know why people are so hateful towards @Lesdoggg. Why? She's talented and wonderful. Why are people so pressed to be awful?

I was terrified when I did SNL. Leslie Jones went out of her way to be open, warm, friendly, funny all week. She is a GEM.
