Hilary Tsui undergoes surgery for slipped disc
26 Jun - While her husband is recuperating from a fractured cheekbone, Hong Kong actress Hilary Tsui recently revealed that she has also been hospitalised for an upcoming surgery.
On 24 June, the wife of Eason Chan posted several photos on Instagram, including the view from her hospital room as well as the doctors treating her, and revealed that she is undergoing surgery for her slipped disc problem.
"I have been suffering from back pain for many years due to a slipped disc issue in my lumbar spine. In 2022, I underwent surgery to remove the remaining disc, but the pain in my lower back persists. As a very active individual, these past two years have been particularly challenging, as I've had to stop weight training, I experienced back pain after backcountry snowboarding due to having to carry heavy gear. This situation has affected my daily life and causing severe pain whenever I sneeze," she wrote.
"As a result, my doctor recommended a disc replacement surgery. This surgery is likely to be the most significant operation of my life, apart from giving birth to my daughter 20 years ago. I am hopeful that this procedure will allow me to return to the sports I love and resume my regular routine soon."
Prior to this, Eason was taken to the hospital after injuring his cheekbone during a fall, which happened when he fainted from excessive heat while playing tennis.
