Hideo Kojima Shares Sony State of Play Announcement, Fueling 'Death Stranding 2' Rumors

Rumors aside, Death Stranding 2 is basically confirmed to be on the way. Fans have been eagerly anticipating the sequel to 2019’s Death Stranding, developed by Kojima Productions and published by Sony.

Ahead of Sony’s next State of Play livestream, where the company previews all the new titles coming to the PlayStation, Hideo Kojima has shared his own announcement of the event. While not explicitly mentioning anything about the game, it’s safe to assume that Death Stranding 2 is on the roster for the 40-minute event.

Last year, it was reported that Kojima was editing a trailer for the forthcoming title after his personal assistant shared a photo of him working with what looked to be video editing software.

The original Death Stranding was developed for the PlayStation 4. The game takes place in the aftermath of an apocalyptic event that leaves alien-like creatures roaming the Earth. Players control courier Sam Bridges, who is tasked with delivering supplies to cities.
