HERSTORY collaborates with Goh Liu Ying for charity badminton tournament

29 Jan - In an effort to promote public awareness of women's physical and mental health, charity organisation HERSTORY will be hosting the "HERSTORY FITFEST x GLY 3V3 BADMINTON TOURNAMENT" for two days on 2 & 3 March at the Sports Hub in Austin Heights, Johor Bahru.

Established in 2022, HERSTORY designates 3rd of March as "HERSTORY Health and Wellness Day". The charity actively advocates for women's physical and mental health through various online and offline educational and caring activities. For this year's Herstory Health and Wellness Day, HERSTORY is collaborating with Goh Liu Ying, introducing the 'HERSTORY FITFEST x GLY 3V3 BADMINTON TOURNAMENT'.

In addition to exciting 3v3 badminton matches, there will be a unique health festival, where participants can learn about women's health and wellness care through hands-on experiences and interactive activities. A series of charitable activities like free oral check, health screenings and exciting game booths will also be available at the venue.

This event also marks Goh's first return to the badminton court - after welcoming her first baby who was born on the auspicious Merdeka day last year - acting as the driver and initiator of the GLY 3V3 Badminton Tournament.

She shared, "Since we started organising the GLY 3V3 badminton tournament last year, our goal has always been to promote the enjoyable 3v3 badminton, and at the same time contribute to social welfare. This year, we are especially grateful for HERSTORY's invitation, which gives greater significance to this badminton competition through cross-industry collaboration."

In addition to HERSTORY's goal of promoting women's health and wellness, this year's HERSTORY FITFEST x GLY 3V3 BADMINTON TOURNAMENT will also feature the categories for Men's Triple, Mixed Triple and Teen's Triple to encourage more participation.

Goh also called on badminton enthusiasts to join the event, saying, "Badminton was once my profession, and it has brought me a lot of joy and satisfaction."

The registration period for the 'HERSTORY FITFEST x GLY 3V3 BADMINTON TOURNAMENT' is from 25 January to 25 February 2024. Early bird discounts are available for registrations from 25 January to 12 February.

The total prize money for this event exceeds RM10,000, including RM2,000 for the champion (one team per category), RM1,000 for the runner-up (one team per category), and RM300 for the third place (two teams per category). Winners will also receive medals and certificates.
