Hedwig Tam to play a prisoner with child in "Prison of Love"

14 Mar - Hedwig Tam is excited for her new movie, "Prison of Love", which will have her playing a prisoner giving birth to a child while incarcerated.

As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who appeared at FILMART to promote the upcoming project, couldn't help but laugh at the notion that she seems to have taken a couple of mother roles after turning 30.

"The last project I did required me to familiarise myself with a baby, and in this film, it is the reverse. It tells the story about a prisoner who doesn't want to deal with a baby in prison but then slowly changed. There is a lot of inner drama to deal with," she said.

Hedwig also said that the challenge is to work with children of different ages, from a six-month-old baby to a three-year-old child.

"This is my first time challenging myself to play a prisoner. I think the subject matter is special. Before taking on this film, I didn't know that children born in prison would receive special treatment. Female prisoners have parent-child time and can personally take care of their child until they are three before making other arrangements," she said.

The upcoming film will be helmed by director Sunny Yip.
