Hawick Lau denies wife was away for New Year
28 Feb – Hong Kong actor Hawick Lau has denied reports that wife Yang Mi has failed to come home to her husband and kid for the Lunar New Year in Hong Kong.
As reported on Apple Daily, news of Yang's absence came about after Hawick was spotted at the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club on the second day of the Lunar New Year with his parents and daughter Noemie.
When asked the whereabouts of Yang Mi, he only responded, "Happy New Year, thank you."
Fuelling speculations that Yang didn't come home was the fact that the actress only shared a photo of her and her cat on the eve of the New year.
However, on 20 February, the actor took to social media to deny the rumours, saying that the whole family did spend time together at the clubhouse.
"I hope that there will be no more speculations after this clarification. I declined to comment at the time because it was inconvenient to do so. My wife is home and we spent time together at the clubhouse. I even shared this with the reporter," wrote the actor.
He also stressed that the Lunar New year is a time for the family, and that others should not deliberately make an issue out of nothing.
