Hawick Lau denies reports about daughter's real name
30 May - Hong Kong actor Hawick Lau and actress wife Yang Mi have recently denied reports about their child Noemie's real name, as reported on ET Today.
It is no secret that the couple has always been very secretive about the identity of their daughter. Aside from banning the paparazzi from showing her face in the media, Hawick and Yang Mi have also kept mum about her real name, and only talked about her using her nickname "Xiao Noemie" (Little Glutinous Rice).
However, recently a tabloid reported that a source close to the family had leaked Noemie's real name, which is said to be "Liu Yi Xin". It quickly became one of the most searched names online, prompting Hawick Lau to speak up and clarify the rumours.
On 25 May, Hawick's studio released its statement which read, "Thank you for your concern with Noemie, but her real name is not the one reported by the media. Please do not misunderstand and spread the false news any further."
The studio continued saying that the couple wishes to keep their daughter's identity low-key so that she could have a normal life.
"We urge the media to give the child some space for her growth, and not to pay too much attention to the child's life. We are thankful for your understanding," it added.
