Hael Husaini makes acting debut through "My Famous Ex Boyfriend"

20 Sep – After 17 years in the entertainment industry, it was revealed that Hael Husaini will finally be adding another notch to his belt.

Acting, that is.

The singer-songwriter teased fans on social media recently with photos of him alongside actress Qasrina Karim on what seemed to be a filming set, captioning it with the camera icon.

In an interview with Gempak, Hael confirmed the rumours and revealed that he wanted to try something new in his career. The singer admitted that he even attended acting classes despite his busy schedule for the sake of his first ever TV series, "My Famous Ex Boyfriend", which is an adaptation of an Alaf 21 novel.

"I have received lots of offers from directors before, but I finally said yes to this drama because of how compatible the character is to who I am," he said.

The singer also admitted that he is both nervous and excited to see the reception to his first ever drama.

Based on the novel "Petrichor" by novelist Nurul Syahida, "My Famous Ex Boyfriend" tells the story of Sameera, a woman who has to find a way to move on from her long-term relationship, an already difficult thing to do, except that her ex-boyfriend is also a famous celebrity.

The drama, which will be aired on Astro, also stars Qasrina Karim and Nadhir Nasar.
