10 Jun – Fresh from her win at the Miss World Philippines 2022, Gwendolyne Fourniol finally took to social media to express her feelings about representing the country at the upcoming Miss World 2022.
On 8 June, the beauty queen posted a photo from the recent pageant, with her donning the sash and her Miss World PH crown, and wrote, "The road to my Miss World Philippines journey was not an easy one. It has been a rollercoaster but despite all of the obstacles and challenges that have come my way, I have kept faith in myself and never stopped believing that I was destined for something greater."
Gwendolyne revealed that she grew up having to work four jobs while attending a school in England, and leaving her family at 18 to become a French and English teacher, as well as having done a little bit of modelling.
"I joined MWP in 2021 and placed top 15. After that chapter in my life, I was determined to come back stronger than ever. Armed with my ardent desire to fulfil my advocacy, I decided to join again. Never in my wildest dream did I imagine to now be your Miss World Philippines 2022 at the age of 21 years old," she added.
"However, this is only the beginning of my journey. The next six months of my life will be filled with growth, learning and my sweat and tears. I hope that we can all spread love instead of hate and negativity," she added.
She also thanked ERDA Foundation of which she advocates, saying that they are the reason that she kept going.
"I hope that my journey could inspire you to never give up no matter the circumstances," she added.
