Griselda Yeung accused of supplies hoarding issue in HK

12 Feb – TVB actress Griselda Yeung recently denied allegations that she was the one who started the shopping frenzy among Hong Kong citizens that ended up with stores around the city being out of cleaning supplies and paper towels.

As reported on Mingpao, the issue sparked after an audio recording of Griselda talking about a possible shortage was uploaded online - with the actress reportedly telling friends that there would be supply issues in regards to paper towels as a majority of it is produced in Wuhan.

She then added that she heard this from a friend of her husband who reportedly works in logistics.

Speaking to the media about the recording, Griselda admitted that it was her voice but that it was only a mere conversation that she had with friends with a good intention.

"I never wanted to create panic, as the recording was only intended for my group of friends. I hope that everybody will maintain positive energy. We are under a great pressure right now and we should all help each other," she said.

She also urged the public not to hoard essential items and only take what they need.
