Graham Norton surprised by throwback footage on The One Show
Graham Norton was in for a surprise throwback to the 1990s during an appearance on BBC’s The One Show last night (Thursday, 22 September)
The presenter appeared on the sofa alongside Hollywood actor Jeff Bridges, to talk with hosts Alex Jones and Jermain Jenas about the return of his award-winning Graham Norton Show. While there, Alex revealed the research team had uncovered a clip of the first time Graham had ever appeared on the BBC, which was back in 1992.
"Now then Graham, while Jeff had his acting debut aged six months, well we did a bit of trawling and we found your debut in Growing Rich."
Alex then plays a short clip showing a youthful Graham as a waiter, before exclaiming, “Oh brilliant. Give him the BAFTA.”
Reacting to the clip, Graham said: “What was really depressing was I left drama school, working as a waiter. And then I got my first job... as a waiter!"
Graham confirmed that his 30th series of The Graham Norton Show will return to BBC One on Friday, 30 September at 10.35pm.
As usual, the Irish host will welcome Hollywood and beyond's biggest names to his sofa. First up, he'll interview Oscar winner Rami Malek to talk about Amsterdam, his new murder-mystery co-starring Margot Robbie, Christian Bale and John David Washington.
Pop hero Robbie Williams will perform his latest single Lost, while actress Lydia West will discuss her new thriller Inside Man.
