Grace Wong says she left TVB to challenge herself

1 Feb – Grace Wong recently admitted that one of the reasons why she left TVB was because there was nothing new for her to do in the company.

In an interview with Mingpao recently, the actress, who is part of Donnie Yen's new movie, "Sakra", shared that she realised that it was time to venture out after realising that everything she did as a TVB actress had become a habit.

"There is food every month, then wait for the company to assign work, it's not that I went to auditions. At the same time, I understand how the show works. There are many scenes to be filmed in a day. Sometimes I want to figure out more about the role, and do more, but because of time constraints, I couldn't do it," she said.

Grace said that she wanted more than just the same thing over and over again.

"I love to sing and I want to do acting projects in different languages. These opportunities I could get more outside [of TVB]. I do cherish all I had, as well as the colleagues who helped me, but at a certain point, like a person graduating from college, I have to rejoin society and struggle on my own," she said.

Since leaving TVB, the actress has done several projects, including participating in the Youku reality dance competition, ""Great Dance Crew".
