Due to heavy rains, attendees of the annual Burning Man festival in the Black Rock Desert in Nevada were stuck with no way out. One attendee—Pauline Ducruet, the eldest daughter of Princess Stéphanie of Monaco—documented her journey out of Burning Man on her Instagram story.

"We're out," she wrote on Monday over a picture of the desert through a car windshield, then posted a snap of her very muddy boots at a 7 Eleven gas station. In another slide on her Instagram story, she shared a photo of herself and her friends, writing, "when it was dry and fun." Ducruet, who works as a fashion designer, also shared a meme of Shakira dancing in the mud captioned, "Everyone at Burning Man this weekend."

The Monegasque royal was just one of many famous "Burners" at the festival, including Chris Rock, Diplo, Cindy Crawford, Kaia Gerber. and Austin Butler. Diplo posted on his social media accounts that he "just walked 5 miles in the mud out of burning man with chris rock and a fan picked us up."

Neal Katyal, who was Acting Solicitor General under Obama, also documented his journey out of Burning Man. "It was an incredibly harrowing 6 mile hike at midnight through heavy and slippery mud, but I got safely out of Burning Man," he wrote on X (formerly Twitter). "Never been before and it was fantastic (with brilliant art and fabulous music)…except the ending."
