New Balance has been known among runners as the go-to brand for all-around comfortable, stable and value-for-money shoes. This time, with their new Version 3 shoes, New Balance intends to push the envelope in innovation by manufacturing trainers with higher performance elements.
According to New Balance, the FuelCell Rebel V3 is designed to power you through everyday runs, training sessions, or long distances. This running shoe features high-rebound FuelCell foam to propel you forward and a lightweight engineered knit upper with the right structure to keep you moving at top speeds.
As someone who doesn't personally run marathons but includes quick sprints and training in her workouts, I was pleased to report that the FuelCell Rebel V3 is a great companion on the gym floor.

First impressions
I'm in love with the colour combo – sort of 'Vibrant' violet-blue with hints of fluorescent green and orange soles under the lightweight foam. The baby-blue 'Starlight' colour is also attractive, and I can see why this will be a crowd-pleaser.
The shoes come in sizes between US 5 to 9, and I'm wearing size US 8, which weighs about 164g (pretty light!). Even with thick socks, the shoes fit snugly, and there's a right bounce, thanks to its 1.5 mm thick midsole cushion.
I put the shoes to the first test at my Bodypump class, a calorie-burning resistance training workout where I lift weights using a bar and weight plates. When I attempted lunges with the bar over my shoulders, I found the shoes gripped well with good stability, thanks to the rubber on the outsoles.
Next, I took the shoes for a run on the treadmill and found a smooth and enjoyable ride to it. Perhaps the aerodynamic design work to its advantage, but I also find the lace knit to be very comfortable.
Another plus point is the ample space in the toe box area without making my toes feel squishy.
Most shoppers raved about its "quality and overall great experience," with one happy runner exclaiming, "These shoes are unbelievably cloud-like. They're squishy and springy at the same time. Has a real nice response when running and can wear it for all-day casual comfort too."
Worth the buy?
I find the shoes a great buy if you want shoes for everyday use without busting your budget. Plus, who can resist the colourways?
