The Goldbergs: Susie Essman Set to Reunite With Curb Husband Jeff Garlin
Turn down the volume on your TV: Susie Essman is coming to The Goldbergs.
Essman will reunite with her Curb Your Enthusiasm husband Jeff Garlin in an upcoming episode of the ’80s-set ABC comedy, Entertainment Weekly is reporting. She’ll play hard-charging showbiz manager Edie Robb — based on a childhood friend of Goldbergs creator Adam F. Goldberg — who takes an interest in Adam. (All that movie-making is finally paying off!)
Essman is best known for playing Jeff’s loudmouthed wife (and Larry David’s eternal antagonist) Susie Greene for eight seasons on HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm. And that series is returning for a ninth season, which is expected to air next year, so Essman and Garlin should be sharing the screen again soon enough. Essman has also recently appeared on Comedy Central’s Broad City and truTV’s Those Who Can’t.
The Goldbergs airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on ABC; Essman’s episode is set to air in January.
