‘Goblin’ filming locations to visit if you’re a die hard fan

Here’s another way to nurse your withdrawal from the record-breaking Korean fantasy and romance drama “Goblin”.

Korea Tourism Organisation’s website Visit Korea and some travel blogs have recently revealed all the filming locations from the popular tvN drama for fans who would like to take a trip down and relive their favourite scenes.

If you can’t remember the lines from the show, go ahead anyways and snap photos pretending you’re the Goblin Kim Shin (Gong Yoo), the Grim Reaper (Lee Dong-wook), Ji Eun-tak (Kim Go-eun) or Kim Sun (Yoo In-na).

Here are all the places to include in your itinerary the next time you travel.

SOUTH KOREA

Borinara Hagwon Farm

Here’s where you can find the buckwheat farm where the Goblin usually goes to relax and where Ji Eun-tak had first attempted to pull out the sword from his chest.

If you’re travelling with your significant other, take this chance to pick a buckwheat flower as well. The plant symbolises “lovers” in the drama.

Borinara Hagwon Farm, which occupies more than 500,000 sq m, is located at Gochang County in the North Jeolla Province.

Jumunjin Breakwater

The Jumunjin Breakwater was where one of the most important scenes of the drama was shot. It was here where the character Ji Eun-tak accidentally summoned the Goblin for the first time while she was sitting there by herself with a birthday cake in her lap.

Jumunjin Breakwater is located at Gangneung in Gangwon Province. According to Visit Korea, you can even purchase a buckwheat flower bouquet and red scarf to complete your picture perfect moment.

Mirinae Holy Site

Ji Eun-tak also summoned the Goblin at a church where he was unable to use his powers to escape. That scene was filmed at the Mirinae Holy Site, which is located at Anseong in Gyeonggi Province.

Mirinae, which means Milky Way in Korean, is where the first Catholic Saint of the country was buried.

Baedari Secondhand Bookstore Alley

And there’s the popular bookshop that appears numerous times in the drama. The bookshop featured in the drama is called Hanmi Bookstore and is located along the Baedari Secondhand Bookstore Alley in the Dong District in Incheon.

According to Trazy.com, the bookstore has been around since 1955.

Yongdap Station Pedestrian Bridge

Here is where the Grim Reaper and Kim Sun first met in the drama. The Yongdap Station Pedestrian Bridge is located at Seongdong District in Seoul.

Cheongna Lake Park

This was where Kim Shin walked with Ji Eun-tak when he was drunk and lied to his bride that he would become “prettier” once the sword is pulled out from his chest.

Cheongnaho Lake Park is located at Seo, which is the largest district in Incheon.

Yongpyong Resort

This is where Ji Eun-tak took up a part-time job at a ski resort after running away from the Goblin and the Grim Reaper.

It is also where the Goblin’s bride had a near-death experience when shelves toppled over her.

The resort is located at Pyeongchang County in Gangwon Province.

Seongnamsa Temple

Here is where Kim Shin sets off his sky lanterns and met the Grim Reaper after discovering his real identity.

The temple is located at Ulju County and Ulsan.

Choong Ang High School and Konkuk University

Here are the places where Eun-tak goes to school in the drama.

Both schools are located in Seoul. Choong Ang High School is located at Jongno District while Konkuk University is located at Gwangjin district.

Classic Korean drama “Winter Sonata” was also shot at Choong Ang High School.

Chocolatier Zino

Here is where Kim Shin and Eun-tak come for steak in “Canada”. The location is actually in Paju, a city in the Gyeonggi Province. It’s also where the memorable scene in which the Goblin saw Eun-tak’s future was shot.

Grafitti Tunnel

Remember that hilarious bromance scene where the Grim Reaper and the Goblin walked through a tunnel carrying spring onions only to have the “cool” moment disrupted by a motorist?

The graffiti tunnel in that scene is located near Sinchon Station along Seoul’s Subway Line 2.

The scene where the Goblin professed to himself that Eun-tak was his first love while in Canada was shot by the Fontaine de Tourny in Quebec, Canada.

Petit Champlain District

The red door through which the Goblin and Eun-tak entered Canada for the first time together in the drama is located at the Petit Champlain District, a neighbourhood in Quebec City.

The place is popular among tourists who would flock to the area to admire historical architecture, cobblestone streets as well as one-of-a-kind boutiques and bistros.

Chateau Frontenac Hotel

The hotel which belongs to the Goblin in the drama, and also the place where Eun-tak stayed during her return to Canada nine years later, was shot here.

The Chateau Frontenac Hotel is one of Canada’s most iconic hotels overlooking the St Lawrence River and Old Quebec, which has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Parc du Bastion de la Reine

One of the most important Canada scenes in the drama was shot here at Parc du Bastion de la Reine. This was where the graveyard in the show was located, and where Eun-tak and Kim Shin reunite at the end.
