Gingle Wang excited to be part of Golden Horse Best Actress category
8 Oct - Taiwanese actress Gingle Wang recently admitted that being nominated in the Best Actress category at the Golden Horse Awards was not something she has ever predicted would happen.
As reported on Epoch Times, the 21-year-old actress, who spoke to the media about her movie "Detention" leading the awards with 12 nominations and her nomination in the said category, stated that she didn't think her name would be short-listed at all.
"When I heard my name, my mind went blank. All I wanted to do was tell my mother as soon as possible because she had been praying for me," she said.
Gingle also added she is thankful to the Golden Horse team for the recognition.
It is noted that the young actress will be facing tough competition from the likes of Yeo Yann-yann ("Wet Season"), Lo Hsueh-feng ("Synapses"), and Samantha Ko ("A Sun"), as well Angelica Lee Sinje ("The Garden of Evening Mists"), the latter who has already won the award in 2002 for her role in "The Eye".
