Gigi Leung wants to record uplifting songs
30 Jun – Although she was the queen of heartbreak songs, Gigi Leung revealed that she plans to release only uplifting music in her upcoming new album.
As reported on Mingpao, the singer, who is in the process of preparing for her first album with Universal Music, shared that her first single with the record label was titled "Goodbye Cinderella" as her way of saying farewell to tearful songs.
"I want to sing songs that bring hope to everyone. I don't want my daughter Sofia to hear songs that has only a dead end. I want songs that will cheer her up, giving her hope and telling her not to give up. I want to use this angle for my new album," she said, adding that she wants to record songs that she and Sofia can sing to together.
Gigi said that being a wife and a mother has really changed her perspectives as a singer and an actress, adding that she even chooses roles that are more uplifting nowadays to show a good example to Sofia. Even if she is to play a villain, Gigi said she would always make sure that the character will be punished at the end.
"My daughter is getting bigger and bigger and she is very curious about many things, so I have to make sure to screen certain things. I will not let her see my previous films," she said.
