Gerry Turner Responds to Claims in 'The Hollywood Reporter' About Previous Relationships
In case you missed it, which, doubtful, The Hollywood Reporter dropped an exposé on Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner's past, alleging that he had a long-term girlfriend who wasn't mentioned on the show. Per THR, Gerry dated a woman (who asked to remain anonymous) several months after his wife's passing, and their relationship when Gerry allegedly uninvited her to a reunion after she put on weight.
This news broke right before The Golden Bachelor's finale and After the Final Rose special, where Gerry and Theresa Nist got engaged and announced that they're getting married on television. Naturally, these two are doing a lot of press at the moment, which means yep, Gerry's been asked about the THR article.
"I guess I would say this," Gerry said in response to Katie Couric in the above interview (around 10 minutes in). "I dated a number of women, so then it becomes an issue of how you define if you’re in a relationship or not. I guess, like any guy, I had a number of dates and it was one or two."
Gerry then added, "It really didn't" when asked about the "long term relationship that lasted a couple of years," and said "I want to focus on what’s going on now."
Meanwhile, Gerry told Entertainment Tonight re: his past, "I don't give it a whole lot of thought. I've got to be honest, I just don't give it a life. I have so many positives in my life right now. Right at this very moment, look what I have that is an equal partner to me! To get bogged down in the past, I just can't go there, nor do I want to."
