Gemma Atkinson reunites with Strictly's Aljaz and Janette as their babies meet for first time
Gemma Atkinson shared sweet pictures on Tuesday (19 September) after she met up with her former Strictly dance partner Aljaz Skorjanec and his wife, Janette Manrara, with their newborn babies.
Gemma and her partner Gorka Márquez, who are already parents to three-year-old Mia, welcomed their son Thiago in July. Aljaz and Janette's daughter Lyra Rose arrived almost two weeks later at the end of the month.
The adorable photos from the meet up in a restaurant show the proud parents holding their little ones as they meet each other for the first time. Gemma captioned the pictures: "When Thiago met Lyra…. 🥰 Future dance partners of which all their skill set in dance, will be from me. 😂"
Gorka, who is partnered with Nikita Kanda on this year's Strictly, wasn't at the get together and commented: "Wish I was there 😢❤️"
Janette also shared pictures from the outing alongside other recent meet ups with friends. Writing on Instagram, she said she was "grateful" to have friends with children of a similar age.
"Busy 2 days for Lyra🌹 meeting more of her friends!" Janette said. "Thiago, Edie, and Ernie! Babies, babies, and more babies! Haha! Grateful to have friends around us w/ babies in a similar stage. I mean Thiago is only 11 days older then Lyra; almost birthday twins like myself and @glouiseatkinson (still flawless btw) It was the cutest 2 days! 🤍"
Gemma recently shared a heartfelt message to other mothers after reflecting on her experience of becoming a parent for the second time.
"2 is obviously harder [than one child] in some aspects, it’s also easier in so many too!" she shared with a photo of her routine before she had children (a workout and a coffee in the garden), next to a photo of her now (with her new baby on her knee). "I feel like no one talks about that bit though, only the doom & gloom 😂 I personally find you’re way more chilled with the 2nd," she added. "I find I’m not questioning things as much because I’ve done it before & Mia’s turned out bloody brilliant."
