GEM casts boyfriend in MV, dismissing breakup rumour
11 Aug â GEM has now dismissed once and for all the rumours that she and stylist boyfriend Mark have called it quits on their relationship.
On 8 August, the Hong Kong singer shared several photos of the cast of her new music video, "Revelation", and surprised fans with the addition of Mark as a character called Carl.
Speaking about Mark's involvement, GEM said that the entrepreneur was originally not part of the MV, but that she recruited him after the original cast member was unable to participate due to the pandemic and scheduling conflict.
"I told him that he has suitable temperament, but he declined several times. He said that he was not an actor and felt that he would screw it up. I told him that there is nobody else and that I'd be ruined if he didn't help me," she said.
GEM also sang praises for Mark's performance in the MV, though added that he is not interested to be doing so anymore.
As to the previous rumour that they have broken up after five years of relationship, she said, "The hardships I had in the past six months were just during the shooting process, not in my love life."
The couple have been together for five years.
