Gao Yunxiang and Dong Xuan facing marital woes?
23 Aug – Rumours are rife that there is trouble in paradise between controversial actor Gao Yunxiang and his actress wife Dong Xuan.
As reported on Sina, rumours of marital problem between the two sparked recently, when netizens noticed that Dong did not update her Weibo account to wish the actor a happy birthday when he turned 36 on 15 August.
It is noted that the actress never failed to wish him on her social media account, having done so every year with photos of their happy family since they tied the knot in 2011.
It is also noted that Gao, who is facing a sexual assault case, hasn't actually received any birthday wishes on Weibo this year.
Further fuelling the rumours is the fact that recent photos showed that Dong was not wearing her wedding ring when she appeared at a promotional event in Beijing.
In previous reports by the Chinese media, CCTV recordings submitted as evidence in his trial in Sydney, Australia showed that the actor had entered the hotel room where the alleged sexual assault happened 36 minutes prior to the crime.
Gao is currently residing in Australia with Dong and their family while awaiting his trial.
