Gao Yuanyuan says husband encouraged her comeback


3 Oct - Chinese actress Gao Yuanyuan admitted that it was husband Mark Chao who advised her to return to work after three years of hiatus.

As reported on Epoch Times, the actress, who spoke to the media at the press conference of her new movie, "Sons of the Neon Night", shared that Mark encouraged her to take on the challenge when she was offered a role in the Juno Mak movie.

"He said that the longer I stop [from acting], the harder it will be for me to return. This is the nature of being an actor," she said.

Gao also expressed happiness for the opportunity to work alongside great Hong Kong actors, including Tony Leung Kar Fai, Takeshi Kaneshiro, Louis Koo, and Sean Lau in the movie.

"I am very fortunate to be able to cooperate with them," she said.

Playing a psychiatrist in the movie, Gao's performance received high praises from her co-star Tony Leung, who said. "She really made me feel like I am talking to a psychiatrist. She has the ability to get me into character through her performance."
