SINGAPORE – It’s been a little over a week since South Korean singer G-Dragon was discharged from military services last month but he’s making headlines for his collaboration with Nike: he’s left his artistic touches on the Air Force 1 (AF1), naming it the ‘Para-noise’.

"Ever since I came across hip-hop as a kid, AF1 has had a meaning greater than just shoes," says the idol. "I couldn’t afford them, so I would always pass the Nike store and admire them with my eyes and heart only. For those who loved hip-hop culture, oversized clothes, hats and matching-coloured AF1s was the uniform."

The shoes are already worn by celebrities such as Exo’s Suho, Grey and Park Shin Hye before the official release, giving fans an intimate look. Upon closer inspection, G-Dragon has incorporated an enlarged daisy on the tongue of the shoes, removable custom pins in the upper eyelets, paint streaks and reversed thick laces. It’s no doubt the Internet is calling it the best collaboration this year.

The Nike Air Force 1 Para-noise launches at Dover Street Market Singapore on an online raffle basis on Saturday (23 November). A pair retails for S$279.
