G-Dragon to enlist 27 February

22 Feb – BIG BANG leader and Korea's top star G-Dragon will begin his military service at the end of the month.

As reported on Korea Herald, the news was announced by his management company, YG Entertainment, saying that the rapper will be enlisting as an active-duty soldier on 27 February - making him the second BIG BANG member to begin military service following T.O.P.

"It's true that he has received his draft notice. The BIG BANG members have been thinking about enlisting as soon as they received their draft notices," said a rep from the company.

The company added that G-Dragon, whose real name is Kwon Ji-young, hopes to enlist without an official farewell event to avoid commotion on the day of his departure.

On the other hand, another member, Taeyang is also set to enlist this year. However, no news as to when will the singer be leaving for the military.

In a previous interview, BIG BANG's Daesung shared that he hopes to get enlisted sometime this year as well. Only Seungri has yet to share any plans about the service.
