1. Toffee Nut Latte

The first two recipes on this list are for the coffee drinkers. Let's start with something sweet and satisfying.

Ingredients:

  1. Two shots of espresso

  2. Toffee nut syrup

  3. Steamed milk

  4. Whipped cream

  5. Butterscotch sauce

Equipment:

Steps:

  1. Brew two shots of freshly espresso and combine it with toffee nut syrup.

  2. Stir in some steamed milk before garnishing it with whipped cream and butterscotch sauce.

2. Espresso Martini

Some people like it stirred, some people like it shaken, and some people love their martinis caffeinated.

Ingredients:

  1. A shot of espresso

  2. A shot of Vodka

  3. A shot of Coffee Liquor

  4. Syrup to taste

Equipment:

Steps:

  1. Simply mix vodka, coffee liquor and syrup with the espresso in a shaker.

  2. Strain it into a chilled martini glass and enjoy!

3. Christmas Punch

Christmas punch is a great family and kid-friendly drink for celebrations at home.

Ingredients:

  1. Fruits of choice

  2. Ginger ale

  3. Lime slices

Equipment:

Steps:

  1. Blend fruits into a healthy juice or add ice to form a sorbet. Pour it into a large punch bowl

  2. Add cut fruits into the mixture

  3. Stir in some ginger ale and lime slices for a zesty touch.

4. Mulled Wine

The more popular, and also one with a little more work, mulled wine is the quintessential Christmas drink.

Ingredients:

  1. Red Wine

  2. Orange Slices and Peels

  3. Whole Cinnamon sticks

  4. Whole Star Anise

  5. Sugar/Syrup/Maple Syrup

  6. Brandy

Equipment:

Steps:

  1. Combine wine, whole spices, citrus zest, syrup and simmer until the mixture is fragrant. Remember to not let it boil as that will reduce the alcohol content and affect the taste.

  2. Add a shot of brandy nearer to the end and simmer for another five minutes before serving.

  3. Serve warm or chilled.

5. Peppermint Hot Chocolate with Kahlua

Something sweet, something peppermint,

Ingredients:

  1. Hot Chocolate Powder

  2. Milk

  3. Kahlua/Baileys

  4. Peppermint Syrup

  5. Candy cane

Equipment:

  • Cup

Steps:

  1. Simmer chocolate and milk till it's well mixed, or make a hot chocolate drink with hot chocolate powder.

  2. Add Kahlua, Bailey or both if desired.

  3. Add in peppermint syrup or flavouring, and stir well.

  4. Serve with crushed candy cane on top.

6. Classic Eggnog

A traditional Christmas drink, this rich beverage made with raw pasteurised eggs is a jolly option for the adventurous palate.

Ingredients:

  1. Egg yolk

  2. Sugar

  3. Whole Cream Milk

  4. Condensed Milk

  5. Whipping Cream

  6. Cinnamon

  7. Nutmeg Powder

Equipment:

  • Food mixer (or whisk, if you're willing to put in the elbow grease)

  • Bowl

Steps:

  1. Whisk egg yolk and mix in sugar with the food mixer.

  2. Add whole cream milk, condensed milk, whipping cream, cinnamon and nutmeg powder.

  3. Leave the mixture to chill in the refrigerator before serving.

  4. If you’re in the mood, spice things up with a little dash of whiskey, rum or brandy to turn this drink into a creamy alcoholic beverage.
