Free flow chicken rice at Boon Tong Kee’s newest concept
Boon Tong Kee, famed for its chicken rice, has introduced a new casual dining concept called Chicken Ka Kee in Woodlands. This new outlet brings a fun twist to traditional chicken rice by offering a modern, more relaxed dining experience.
Its refillable chicken rice (rice only) sets Chicken Ka Kee apart, allowing diners to top up their servings. The menu features a variety of items such as chicken rice balls, fried chicken wings, and kaya toast sets, providing a blend of local favourites with a contemporary twist.
The star attraction, of course, is the Chicken Rice (from S$7), available in both poached and roasted versions, accompanied by free-flowing fragrant Rice (S$2.50). Other highlights include Chicken Ka Kee’s set meals that offer affordable options like Pao Fan (S$8), and their Crispy Prawn Paste Fried Chicken Wings (S$12). Alongside these, diners can enjoy refreshing beverages, including local coffees and teas.
Designed to appeal to both families and groups of friends, the restaurant’s interior reflects a vibrant, playful design that matches its approachable menu. Just purely from the aesthetics of the menu and even their Instagram, Chicken Ka Kee looks to appeal to the younger generation with fun colour choices and other hawker favourites. This is in contrast to the more traditional Chinese sister brand, Boon Tong Kee.
With its refillable rice option and wallet-friendly prices, Chicken Ka Kee promises a satisfying experience for hearty appetites while keeping true to its roots as a chicken rice specialist.
