Frankie Chen to remake "It Started with a Kiss"

23 May – Although it was previously rumoured that Frankie Chen will be filming a sequel to her 2015 hit, "Our Times", it was recently revealed that the Taiwanese director has something else in store for the fans.

According to Singtao Daily, sources revealed that instead of "My Girls 2", Frankie is currently planning to direct a movie adaptation of the hit Japanese manga series, "Itazura na Kiss" ("Mischievous Kiss") by Kaoru Tada.

It is noted that the comic was previously adapted for the Taiwanese idol drama, "It Started with a Kiss", and became a hit when it aired in 2005.

Darren Wang, whom Frankie cast in her aforementioned hit movie will be playing the lead, while Chinese actress Jelly Lin Yun will play the role of Yuan Xiang Qin, previously played by Taiwanese actress Ariel Lin.

When asked about it, Frankie stated, "Nothing is certain for now. The script is currently undergoing some fine-tuning. For now, we have decided to begin filming sometime during the summer."

Frankie also stated that the studio has yet to complete its casting and more information will be announced later on.
