Four weeks reschedule granted by Court on trial involving attack on Kamal Adli

4 May - Investigating officers now have four more weeks to complete the investigation into Kamal Adli's attacker, after a Singapore court granted a reschedule.

On 4 May, District Judge Ong Hian Sun granted the request made by the public prosecutor to deny bail to the accused, with the case to be adjourned until next month.

Back on 14 March, the unnamed perpetrator was charged for "suspected involvement in a case of voluntarily causing injury with a dangerous weapon."

Under Section 324 of the Penal Code, if convicted, the man could be jailed for up to seven years, fined, caned or any combination thereof.

The 33-year-old-man, who was previously remanded for three weeks in Singapore's Institute of Mental Health for psychiatric observation, was arrested after attacking Kamal with a baton during the actor's appearance at an Eid event at the Singapore Expo with wife Uqasha Senrose.
