Fortnum & Mason's beauty advent calendar is on sale now

We might have been lounging in the garden in our linen sets this past weekend, but advent calendar season is already in full swing with big names such as Jo Malone London and Liberty already previewing their versions.

Joining the cohort of luxury beauty advent calendars is Fortnum & Mason. The historic departmental store is best known for its fancy Christmas food and drink offerings, but don't sleep on its beauty department. Considering how saturated the advent calendar market is now, Fortnum's have gone above and beyond by offering 30 products instead of 24. An impressive 22 products are full-sizes, too.

True to the Fortnum & Mason identity, the retailer's sixth annual offering is brimming with selections from heritage beauty brands such as Ortigia, Acqua di Parma and Fortnum's own beauty label alongside modern must-haves by the likes of Maison Matine and La Bouche Rouge.

After hosting one party too many, Ortigia's bath salts will provide a welcome relief to tired muscles while Acqua di Parma's bodycare is set to upgrade your daily routine. Meanwhile, sensorial skincare from Wildsmith and Dreem Distillery promise to perk up a winter pallor. There are also two votive candles to scent your space.

China anchors 'monster ship' in South China Sea, Philippine coast guard says
The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said on Saturday that China's largest coastguard vessel has anchored in Manila's exclusive economic zone (EEZ) in the South China Sea, and is meant to intimidate its smaller Asian neighbour.
