Fla. Duo Charged Allegedly Took Turns Cutting Man's Throat, Then Threw Him Off Bridge: Police

Natalie Fonseca and Nafis Reynolds face attempted murder, kidnapping and armed robbery charges

A Florida man and woman were charged with attempted murder after police say they kidnapped a man, cut his throat and threw him off a bridge.

The victim, who was not named in a Facebook post from the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, allegedly agreed to a date with Natalie Fonseca, whom he met on Facebook. When the victim went to her home, she introduced him to Nafis Reynold, who she said was her uncle, police say.

The trio then left Fonseca’s home, and shortly afterward, she and Reynolds allegedly attacked the victim and told him he was going to die, the sheriff’s office claims.

Police claim Fonseca and Reynolds then robbed the victim of his shoes, phone, money and car, and took turns cutting his throat before throwing him off a bridge into the Escambia River.

The victim somehow survived the ordeal, swam to shore and informed a sheriff’s deputy about what happened, police said. The victim’s car was found abandoned and set on fire.

Police then established a crime scene and arrested Fonseca and Reynolds, who were booked into Escambia County jail Monday on charges of attempted murder, kidnapping, armed robbery and armed carjacking.

It is unclear if either Reynolds or Fonseca has retained an attorney or entered a plea.
