The first trailer for Anne Hathaway and Thomasin McKenzie's new thriller Eileen has been released.

Last Night in Soho and The Power of the Dog star McKenzie stars as the titular character, who works in a prison and lives a drab life completely lacking in colour, barely making an impact with her meek personality.

Her world is turned upside down when Hathaway's prison psychologist Rebecca arrives, instantly capturing Eileen's attention with her striking blonde hair, glamorous outfits and oodles of confidence.

The two strike up a friendship, with romantic undertones (or should that be overtones?), as Rebecca tells Eileen that she can tell she has something about her and has the potential to be doing something big.

But it looks like as Eileen becomes more entangled in Rebecca's world, the more she realises she's getting involved in something pretty dark and dangerous.

Eileen has already been shown at multiple film festivals, including Sundance all the way back in January, and at the London Film Festival more recently. Reviews have compared it to Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara's Carol, and have praised Hathaway's performance.
