First ‘Rings’ Trailer Brings Killer Tape Into Digital Age (Video)

In the first trailer for “Rings,” the mysterious tape from “The Ring” that will kill you in seven days after you watch it has finally made its way onto the internet.

In the upcoming sequel, a woman becomes worried about her boyfriend when he explores a dark subculture surrounding the tape after he has viewed it. She sacrifices herself to save him and in doing so makes a horrifying discovery: there is a “movie within the movie” that no one has ever seen before.

The film stars Matilda Lutz, Alex Roe, Johnny Galecki, Aimee Teegarden, Bonnie Morgan and Vincent D’Onofrio. F. Javier Gutiérrez directed, based on the screenplay by David Loucka, Jacob Estes and Akiva Goldsman. It is based on the novel by Kôji Suzuki.

“Rings” will premiere in theaters on Oct. 28.
