First look at Olivia Colman in heartfelt trailer for new movie Joyride
Olivia Colman stars in the first trailer for new road trip movie Joyride.
The first look sees the Oscar-winner's character Joy get swept up in an unexpected carjacking by 12-year-old Mully.
Joy is on her way to an important meeting when her taxi is hijacked by Mully, who finds her in the backseat with her baby. Mully is fleeing from his dad, who wants the cash that he has taken with him.
However, despite the circumstances, the pair form an unexpected bond, as the trailer depicts their growing friendship.
Joyride has been directed by Emer Reynolds, whose previous credits include documentaries such as Songs for While I'm Away.
You can also get a look at the movie's poster above, depicting Colman alongside co-star Charlie Reid. The movie also stars Lochlann Ó Mearáin.
Colman has been pretty busy lately, appearing in the likes of Landscapers and Heartstopper, and will soon be seen in Marvel's Secret Invasion series.
Last year, the actress opened up about where she keeps her Oscar, which she won in 2019 for The Favourite.
Recalling the night, she admitted: "I could almost cry, actually. The thought that when they said my name. I couldn't… I just sat there for a while. It didn't really register, it all went quiet and yeah, amazing. And it was only really a year later that it registered."
Colman added: "And now the little gold man is sitting in a cupboard because I feel a bit embarrassed that it happened. But when no-one's looking, I do sort of go [mimics sliding the cupboard open and gasps excitedly] and close it again."
Joyride will be released in cinemas in the UK and Ireland on Friday, July 29.
