There’s a New, First-Of-Its-Kind M&M Coming to Stores Soon
And it’s kind of a big deal.

M&M’s are a candy aisle classic. The multi-colored chocolate candies are as familiar as they are versatile—you can use them to make all kinds of cookies and baked goods or just eat them as-is. And of course, they come in plenty of different varieties, so you never grow tired of M&M's.
In the new year, there’s a big change coming to the M&M’s lineup. Starting in early 2024, M&M’s is launching a supersized version of the beloved Peanut Butter M&M’s.
M&M’s Peanut Butter Mega Launching in 2024
Earlier this fall, M&M’s released a mini version of the brand’s peanut butter-filled M&M’s. And while the mini size is cute and fun, it’s impossible to pack as much peanut buttery goodness into the tiny candies.
That's where the M&M’s Peanut Butter Mega comes in. It will deliver a hefty dose of fun AND peanut butter flavor. The mega size is about three times as large as the standard M&M’s candy size, meaning these supersized candies are about the size of a nickel.
Fans on social media are ready to take the new candy home ASAP, saying, “If there’s more peanut butter, I’m all in!” Another commenter on the post from the food news Instagram account @markie_devo called out that the high volume of peanut butter is the main draw with the forthcoming product, writing, “Shut up and take my money! This will hold me over until Easter when they bring back the M&M PB eggs and their greater PB ratio.”
The peanut butter M&M’s aren’t the first M&M’s product to get pumped up. In the early 2000s, the brand released “ogre-sized” M&M’s in conjunction with the release of "Shrek 2". M&M’s Mega in the OG milk chocolate flavor were introduced after that initial oversized M&M release, and subsequently a peanut version was released too, but both were discontinued at some point. Thus, the M&M’s Peanut Butter Mega will be the biggest M&M on shelves right now.
While they're officially set to arrive in stores in 2024 according to a press release, M&M Peanut Butter Mega bags have already started popping up in some retailers, so you may get lucky and find them before the new year. The M&M’s Peanut Butter Mega will be available in two sizes: a 2.83-ounce sharing size and a larger 8.6-ounce sharing size, though we won’t judge you if you opt not to share, either. As one Instagram commenter put it, "Stop calling it “share size”—I don’t share with others."
