First ever Bukit Batok hawker centre to open by Jun 2025
Exciting news for Westies, especially Bukit Batok residents! The town’s first-ever hawker centre – Bukit Batok West Hawker Centre – is set to open between April and June 2025!

With over 80 tables, 22 food stalls and more than 400 seats, Bukit Batok West Hawker Centre will be the newest addition to the Bukit Batok food scene. It’s located on Level 1 of Harmony Village, Singapore’s first assisted living public housing estate catering to senior citizens who wish to live independently but still require some care.
As the area’s first hawker centre, it will serve as a communal food hub serving a wide range of cuisines that people from all walks of life are welcome to dine at. Located within a 7-minute drive from Bukit Batok MRT station, it also aims to be accessible and convenient to those looking forward to visiting this new eating spot.

The construction of a Bukit Batok hawker centre was first announced in 2015 by the then Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, which stated that one was to be built by the end of 2027. On 2 Mar 2025, Dr Amy Khor, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Hong Kah North posted the latest update on the renovation progress on her Facebook page.
“Stall renovations are underway and I am optimistic that it will be opening soon,” she wrote in the caption. While tenants haven’t moved in yet, sinks and light switches have already been installed in every stall.

Several stalls in Bukit Batok’s first hawker centre have already put up their signs. They include Nam Kee Pau, Ju Xing Hainanese Boneless Chicken Rice, Urfan’s Rojak & Prata Paradise and Al Yusra. Residents’ reactions have been generally positive, while some have also voiced their hopes for more Malay and vegetarian food options.
Are you looking forward to Bukit Batok’s first hawker centre finally opening its doors in the next few months?
