Fifty Shades Of Grey Sequels Will Be Shot Back-To-Back

The stars of the ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ sequels had better steel themselves for an S&M marathon, as the next two films will be shot back-to-back.

Director James Foley will be helming both 'Fifty Shades Darker’ and 'Fifty Shades Freed’, E.L. James’s follow ups to her international best-seller.

Meanwhile, Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson will be reprising their roles as billionaire sexual adventurer Christian Grey and his lover Anastasia Steele.

Niall Leonard, James’s scriptwriter husband, has penned both the sequels, adapting his wife’s books.

For those unfamiliar with the plots, 'Fifty Shades Darker’ sees Ana rekindling her romance with Christian after leaving him at the end of the first book, but clashes with her new sexual predator of a boss Jack Hyde, and Elena, the woman who seduced Christian when he was 15 and introduced him to his predilection for S&M.

Then in 'Fifty Shades Freed’, their relationship is put in jeopardy, and the devious Jack Hyde takes drastic action.

The 'Fifty Shades’ books have sold a staggering 125 million copies worldwide, and the first movie was a hit for Universal, making $570 million at the box office.

But the production was plagued with talk of in-fighting between James and Sam Taylor-Johnson, who directed the movie.

It also received terrible reviews from the critics, though most added that the film was superior to the book itself.

Taylor-Johnson walked away from directing the sequels, the gig going to Foley, who helmed much of the acclaimed Netflix series 'House of Cards’.

‘Fifty Shades Darker’ is due for release on February 10, 2017, while ‘Fifty Shades Freed’ follows on February 9, 2018.
