Fans share Stephen Chow's old interview about Wong Jing

19 Aug - While Stephen Chow doesn't seem to want to respond to Wong Jing's recent allegations against him, it doesn't mean that he has never clapped back at the said filmmaker.

As reported on Mingpao, netizens recently unearthed an interview from the past, where Stephen actually replied to questions about Wong Jing's earlier criticism against him.

In the said interview with a mainland media, Stephen calmly said, "I never knew that director Wong Jing knew me so well. He actually doesn't know me very well, I think."

He added, "Money is important, but doing things well is the most important thing of all. Money is just bonus."

Wong Jing recently made headlines for attacking Stephen's character yet again on his Youtube show, "Wong Jing Laughs at the Martial Arts World", where he claimed that the comedy auteur became a "tyrant" on the set of "Shaolin Soccer", and that Stephen was treating his investors unfairly by refusing to change the title of his movie, causing the film to be banned in mainland China due to the use of the copyrighted title of "Shaolin".

He also recounted the dispute between Stephen and Sammo Hung, the latter who choreographed the martial arts moves in the movie, "Kung Fu Hustle".
