Before this week, it was not necessarily common knowledge that Ben Affleck is fluent in Spanish—but now that evidence has resurfaced, fans cannot get enough.

In an interview on La Cadena SER, Spain's premier radio network, published Monday, the actor explains, in full Spanish, the though process behind his film Air.

"La cosa importante a entender es que esta no es la historia de Michael Jordan, y también, Michael Jordan no se aparece en la película," he starts off by saying. ("The important thing to understand is that this is not the story of Michael Jordan, and Michael Jordan doesn't appear in the film.")

As he goes on, his expressions, word choices, and even jokes make it clear that he's had years of practice speaking the language. A clip from the interview was shared on TikTok by the radio station, and naturally, fans lost it in the comments section.

"The switch from Ben to Benito 😂😂😂," one user wrote.

"Benjamín Affleck," a second joked, changing the Deep Water star's name to sound Hispanic.

"But damn he speaks better than J Lo," another said.

This is not the first time Affleck has showed off his Spanish speaking skills. In various interviews over the years, he has surprised fans with how fluent he actually is.

But his mastering of the language shouldn’t be too shocking. Not only is Affleck’s wife, Jennifer Lopez, of Puerto Rican descent (she was raised in New York City’s Bronx by her Puerto Rican parents), but Affleck lived in Mexico for three years with his mom and brother, Casey Affleck, when the actors were kids and were chosen to star in a children’s TV program.
