Fan Wei elated to win at Seoul International Drama Awards

25 Sep – Fan Wei is elated to win Best Actor at the Seoul International Drama Awards.

The Chinese actor, who won for his performance in "The Long Season" in the International Competition, stated that he has been lucky last year to have stumbled upon a good production team, a good script, and a good director who made a great drama.

"Today, my luck has upgraded and turned into an unexpected surprise. I thank the Seoul International Drama Awards and everyone who helped me that I was able to stand on the podium," he said.

Aside from winning Best Actor, the series itself won Best Series, sharing the accolade with Greece drama, "Act Like You're Asleep".

In "The Long Season", Fan plays the role of a taxi driver who loses his family and his job while helping the police solve a murder case in the 1990s.

Five Indian soldiers were killed when a military tank they were travelling in sank while crossing a river in the remote region of Ladakh that borders China, officials said Saturday.
