Fan Bingbing wins another lawsuit against slanderers
20 Jun – She may have successfully fought her way to making her acting comeback, but Fan Bingbing is not yet done with retaliating against parties that have been using her portraits illegally for profit, and/or defaming her on social media.
As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who has filed numerous lawsuits during her hiatus following her tax evasion scandal, was revealed to have won her first defamation suit against five defendants, who previously published several fabrications against the actress on Weibo.
These untrue reports include one about Fan supposedly mothering a child out of wedlock.
Fan's legal team from the Beijing Xingquan Law Firm announced that the five defendants are required to publicly apologise to the actress, and pay RMB400,000 in damages.
The firm also stated that there is still a considerable number of online users spreading damaging contents about Fan. They added that the firm has obtained evidence and will continue to initiate necessary action against her defamers.
