Fan Bingbing returns as Guerlain's spokesperson
28 Aug – After losing many brand deals over the controversy surrounding her tax evasion scandal, it was reported that Fan Bingbing is slowly gaining her status as the endorsement queen by signing with French perfume, cosmetics and skincare house Guerlain.
As reported on Epoch Times, the news was shared by the company on its official Weibo with a photo of the actress modelling its new lipstick, Rouge G, captioning it, "On this Qixi Festival, Fan Bingbing presents the "táo xin gonglüè", the new Guerlain limited edition lipstick releases its charm."
While fans rejoiced with Fan's return, others expressed curiosity over why Guerlain was daring enough to sign a global contract with the actress and wondering if she was still reliable as a product endorser what with her tainted image.
On the other hand, an industry insider stated that Fan has always maintained a good relationship with Guerlain, and that the company is already confident with her ability to market their products.
"Her commercial value still has the potential to be tapped and her role as the global spokesperson for Guerlain shows that foreign consumers are not very concerned about Fan's negative news," the insider said.
