Fan Bingbing gets a USD300k Marina Bychkova doll
19 Sep - Li Chen's marriage proposal and his and Fan Bingbing's subsequent engagement are not the only things that attracted the media recently.
As reported on Mingpao, while Li's proposal was the best birthday present to the actress, the actor also gave Fan a romantic but expensive gift - a princess bride Fan Bingbing doll made exclusively by the famed figurative artist, Marina Bychkova.
Bychkova is a Russian-Canadian doll-maker who is known for her anatomically correct ball-jointed dolls that she elegantly sculpts and paints. Her creations are more artistic than mere Barbies, and it is a known fact that Bychkova does not usually customise them for anybody in particular.
According to sources, Li approached Bychkova to design an exclusive doll for Fan as early as a year ago. While the artist declined to make one at first, Li made an effort to convince her otherwise by sharing their love story through videos and photos of them together.
It was also revealed that the actor spent about USD 300,000 just for the said doll that was part of his birthday and proposal gift to the actress.
