SINGAPORE — Following Liverpool’s astonishing 4-3 aggregate comeback victory over Barcelona in their Champions League semi-final clash in the early hours of Wednesday (8 May), well-known roti prata chain Springleaf Prata Place decided to celebrate the occasion by offering free plain prata for Reds fans.

The chain eatery, which has five branches around Singapore, posted on its Facebook page at about 8.15am, “Liverpool fans! The boss has decided to give 4 kosong prata for free to the first 10 fans who show up in jersey at all of our outlets today.

“So put on your Liverpool colours, head down to any of our branches, and celebrate a delicious victory with some tasty prata and curry!”

Then another roti prata chain, Casuarina Curry, upped the game and chimed in on the celebrations by offering free plain pratas for Liverpool fans for the whole of Wednesday at its Thomson and Sixth Avenue branches. Check out its Facebook post:

Liverpool had trailed 0-3 after last week’s first leg, but roared back on their famous Anfield home ground to stun Lionel Messi and Co, courtesy of two goals each from Divock Origi and Georginio Wijnaldum.

Springleaf Prata’s Facebook post even revealed that the owner is actually a fan of Everton, fierce city rivals of Liverpool.

“The boss supports Everton, but even he recognises a great win when he sees one.”

Liverpool will face either Tottenham Hotspur or Ajax Amsterdam in the Champions League final, which will be played in Madrid on 1 June. Ajax hold a 1-0 first-leg advantage over Spurs ahead of the second leg on 9 May.
