Famous 49-year-old fishball noodle stall finds new home in Ang Mo Kio
Teck Hin Fishball Noodle, run by Mr Tan Hay Yam and his wife, has been in business for nearly 50 years and is popular among its fans for its handmade fishballs. The other thing that Teck Hin Fishball Noodle has been in the news for is their multiple relocations. After several failed attempts, the stall seems to have found a new home at Block 159 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 4, Food Tyrant Coffeeshop.
Initially, the stall was at 443 Clementi Ave 3 for 7 years, before moving to Bukit Timah Market & Food Centre in 2019. Upon the announcement that Bukit Timah Market & Food Centre would be demolished and hawkers had to move into an interim location, Mr and Mrs Tan announced that they would be shuttering.

The last day was scheduled to be 6 Dec 2023 – but the owners eventually decided to explore becoming a home-based business with the help of their daughter, Eugenia. Plans fell through, however, due to the startup cost and lack of storage for the equipment needed.
Mr and Mrs Tan have since had a rocky road, moving first to Commonwealth Drive, then Toa Payoh, and finally to Yishun before their new location at Ang Mo Kio. These attempts have cost the pair at least S$25,000.

Eugenia has disclosed that she has invested quite a significant amount into Teck Hin’s relocation. It will also be the last time she does so. She is currently helping her parents with the backend part of the business, such as food photography. Price adjustments will also be made – a regular bowl will now be S$5, and a large bowl is S$6.
Teck Hin Fishball Noodle is scheduled to have its official opening in November, and will operate daily from 7am to 3pm or until sold out.
