EYNTK About The 2022 Emmy Awards, Including Date, Nominees And What To Expect
The Primetime Emmy Awards are around the corner, airing via NBC on September 12 and rumoured to be held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
Last year's ceremony marked the awards' return to an in-person event, following a virtual version of the event in 2020.
Stars such as Olivia Colman, Kate Winslet and Michaela Coel triumphed and series, including The Crown and Mare Of Easttown won multiple accolades.
It did, however, receive criticism due to the lack of diversity amongst its award-winning actors. Coel's award was for writing limited series I May Destroy You, about a woman trying to rebuild her life after being sexually assaulted.
This year's nominations sees actors including Elle Fanning, Lily James and Zendaya in line for 'Best Actress' awards and shows such as Euphoria, Squid Game, Stranger Things and Succession in the category for 'Outstanding drama series'.
The likes of Sydney Sweeney, who received two first-time nominations for her roles in Euphoria and White Lotus, shared her emotional reaction to the news via her Instagram account.
A video clip showed the teary-eyed 24-year-old, who turns 25 on the day of the awards, speaking to her mum in disbelief.
