The Extra Detail You Missed On Kim Kardashian's Angel Blonde Hair At The Met Gala
In a sea of top knots and striking dark locks, Kim Kardashian sauntered up the Met steps last night wearing her signature wavy lengths in an angelic, white blonde hue that's brighter than the flashing lights surrounding the momentous fashion event.
In the week leading up to the Met Gala, Kardashian - with the help of her longtime collaborator, Chris Appleton - has been going significantly blonder, a departure from the deep brunette shade she's been sporting for a majority of the year. 'We wanted to keep a short root & the blonde cool & creamy. I coloured it in a couple of sessions to keep the integrity of the hair nice and juicy,' wrote Appleton in an Instagram post dated a week ago. In it, Kim's blonde skewed silvery and icey, with dark roots along the crown and parting for a gradient effect.
Last night, Kardashian unveiled a brighter hue to accompany her custom corseted Maison Margiela number by John Galliano. It's a more angelic blonde, a halo of ethereal white cascading around her face and down the shoulders.

From the front, it appears as though the style is simply wavy and romantic, but a closer look at the back sees a generous braid that's casually woven for a nonchalant vibe and brings added interest to the style. As a ColorWow and Shark ambassador, Appleton naturally relied on those brands to bring the look to life.
'Prep the hair with Color Wow Money Mist Leave In Conditioner and Dream Coat Curly to ensure a glossy, frizz-free look,' shares Appleton on Instagram. He then uses the Curl Defining Diffuser attachment on Shark Flexstyle with high heat and low air settings to add bends and movement.
To bring in the texture, he employed Color Wow Style On Steroids Texturising Spray before using the Oval Brush attachment to smooth the fringe along her face. 'Next, use the 2- 1.25” Auto-Wrap Curlers attachment throughout the hair, followed by a quick pass with a small barrel curling iron on a few pieces for added dimension,' says Appleton, who then spritzes hairspray to keep the style in place. The loose braid is added last, and pinned to the side. The laidback glamour of the look is fast making it our go-to style for summer, as it can easily be recreated at home with a laissez-faire three-strand plait.
With such intricate detailing on the dress, make-up artist Mario Dedivanovic went with matching cool tones on the eyelids and kept the rest of Kardashian's face soft and neutral for the occasion.
