EXCLUSIVE: Stylist Krista Roser Breaks Down Jelly Roll’s Gothic Musika Look at the CMAs 2023

The 57th annual Country Music Awards took place in Nashville on Wednesday, with rapper Jelly Roll taking home his first CMA for New Artist of the Year.

“There’s something poetic about a 39-year-old man winning new artist of the year,” he said in his acceptance speech. “I don’t know where you’re at in your life or what you’re going through, but I want to tell you to keep going.”

At this year’s ceremony, stylist Krista Roser curated Jelly Roll’s Goth-inspired look. The rapper sported a damask print Musika suit with peak lapels and a pair of patent leather lace-up boots. He also added on diamond-encrusted accessories by Icebox, which included a crucifix featuring a skull pendant, as well as a bejeweled steel and rose gold Rolex.

Roser, who specializes in both womenswear and menswear, has worked with several country stars including Florida Georgia Line and Cassadee Pope. Her portfolio also encompasses editorial styling for magazines like People, Billboard and Bello.

“Working with Jelly is like working with a big brother, best friend, mentor and psychologist all at the same time,” Roser told WWD. “I always learn something from him and always feel so respected. It’s a true teamwork mentality in that camp and [I’m] very grateful to be a part of it.”
