BODRUM BONDING: Forget collecting seashells on the shore as holiday mementos.

To celebrate their respective openings in Bodrum, Turkey, Caviar Kaspia and Turkish jeweler Begüm Khan have teamed up on a capsule collection spanning jewelry, vodka bottle toppers and even a bejeweled display case.

Those not traveling to the Turkish seaside resort need not worry.

The capsule is also launching in Paris on Thursday and will land in Caviar Kaspia’s seven restaurants, the jeweler’s flagships and on both brands’ e-commerce sites.

Prices range from $350 for a crystal-studded pin to $2,000 for an oversize sturgeon-shaped pendant on a golden chain, or a headpiece encrusted with turquoise.

Jeweler Begüm Kiroğlu, who launched her label in 2012 and has collaborated with the likes of Guerlain and footwear label Aquazzura, said she counts the landmark Parisian restaurant on Place de la Madeleine among her favorite places.

“I always wanted to do something with them,” she told WWD. The opportunity materialized as she was planning to open a new resort boutique in the Maxx Royal Bodrum Resort — where the fashion-favorite eatery was also setting up.

“When I heard they were opening [there], I thought it would be the right moment because I love French savoir-faire, arts of the table. It’s not just a restaurant, it has a lot of intersection with art, fashion and is a legendary place.”

The collaboration will also include bottle toppers and even a special-edition Matryoshka-shaped caviar display.

After a lunch and a handshake with Caviar Kaspia Group’s chief executive officer Ramon Mac-Crohon, the collaboration was born, she continued.

“True to its audacious and decadent spirit, Caviar Kaspia always finds a sidestep to stay creative,” he declared. “The Begüm Khan capsule collection embodies that approach perfectly and promises to seduce our clients who are passionate about travel and emerging creation.”

Design-wise, there was no question that the main subject should be Caviar Kaspia’s sturgeon logo. “I wanted to make their logo iconic and forever,” she said.

“For each city, I wanted to add something that represents what the city symbolizes to me and that also characterizes its mood,” Khan said. For Paris, the gold-plated sturgeon motifs are dressed in crystals, while London and its Art Deco feeling called for pearls.

As for Bodrum, which will offer a special edition of the Matryoshka-shaped caviar display, turquoise was the jeweler’s choice given the city’s location on Turkey’s Turquoise Coast, the stone’s seaside lifestyle vibe, and the restaurant’s signature color.

After the Paris launch, further items such as caviar spoons and shot glasses will be revealed at subsequent events in other Caviar Kaspia locations.
